I hope you are doing well. I met with my GP and it seems I am doing well. My recovery is coming along good and she tells me to keep doing what I’m doing. She does still think it will take the full year for me to recover. Which is good news, God is good to me.
We finished the Experiencing God study recently. I got to know God a lot better and he showed me I need to do what He has asked me to do and not be looking around at what everyone else is doing. If you have not done this study I would recommend you do, God will speak to you.
We are starting a new study November 9th. We will be going through the book ‘A Tale of Three Kings’ and we will do this in 6weeks. This book talks about what to do when the believer standing next to you hurts you. There are two slots open, we are meeting Tuesdays at 730pm mountain time online. Please contact me if you are interested in joining.
There was a story on the news of a local man who contracted a rare type of malaria called falciparum malaria. They are unsure how he got this since he was not recently in a location that has malaria. Speculation is a mosquito hitched a ride on a plane and he got bit at the airport. I am happy to report that he survived. I check my medical records from Seattle and this is the form of malaria I had. This reminds me how good God is to me and that he still has plans for me. God has plans for you too, in case you needed to hear this today. (see below for links to Deb’s updates on malaria)
Which brings me to sharing that God has asked me “to go” again and I have said yes. Conversations were begun over the weekend at the monthly care team meeting. If you were unable to attend, the video is uploaded on the care team page. If you are wanting to join the care team, let’s talk. Or if you’re wondering what a care team is, it is a group of people committed to the care of a missionary. I will make a video explaining the roles and get it posted up here for you.
My allergies have been a little crazy lately. Because of the kidney damage there is only one type of allergy medicine that I can take and it doesn’t really do anything for me. I joke and say I sound like Phyllis Diller. Some of you are laughing now and some of you are thinking who is Phyllis Diller and now you will go look her up. Aging myself I guess. She had a rough voice. Prayers for all you allergy sufferers out there.
Lastly, prayers for continued recovery for Tim. His stem cell transplant seems to be successful and he is out of the hospital, at home, recovering. Please keep Tim and his family in prayers as he still has a lot of work/recovery to do.
Thanks for praying and I’ll talk with you again in a week or two.
