I’m back in the 505 after visiting my family in Nebraska. A big thanks to Debbie who drove (and her husband Bill who let her) and everyone else who helped me get there. This trip refreshed my soul. We hung out, caught up, played cards, ate a lot of food and went to coffee every day. It is like when you take a deep breathe and hold it in for so long. This was the big exhale. So great seeing my family. We even took a family picture (see below).
After leaving Nebraska we went to South Dakota and visited Debbie’s family. Thank you to Joe and Tamra for their hospitality, I enjoyed our time together. We had a bbq, walked by the capital, toured Debbie’s childhood hometown and went on the hunt for some good coffee.
Refresh you soul
The actual trip was fairly uneventful. Heading out we took a rock to the little side window and it shattered. I think this is called a vent window but this one doesn’t actually open. We were able to tape the window and make it all the way back to New Mexico. The glass is on order and I’m hoping they can get it replaced very soon. The return trip was very windy in Colorado and New Mexico. We saw a semi get its back trailer lifted off the ground. We decided to drive through the mountains instead of the interstate, much less wind there. And very beautiful scenery, the trees are starting to change.
Thank you everyone for praying for Mel, Suzanne’s dad. God did call him home last week. Suzanne is with her family now. The funeral was Tuesday, October 12th with burial the next morning. I don’t know about you guys but I still have my dad and it is very hard for me to imagine a world without him. Please continue to pray for Suzanne and her family as they adjust to their new reality without Mel.
Upon returning to New Mexico I spoke at a Sunday school class at a local Baptist church. Thank you for having me, I do enjoy talking about God and how he is working. I gave a ministry update on what’s happening in Uganda and a quick update on my health. I brought too many pictures with me and had to skip some and rush through the end to squeeze it into the time. God is always working.
I would love to come and speak to your group about God working in and through me and the ministries where I have served. Please send an email to Speak and we can set up a time.
