Love me some fries. Then I had them English style all smothered in vinegar. Wow. Way too much vinegar for me so I made up this recipe to get some of that great kick from the vinegar without it actually knocking me over.
Vinegar Oven Fries
2 potatoes
1 Qt water
2 T apple cider vinegar
1 t salt
½ T olive oil
1 t salt
½ t pepper
1 t paprika
Preheat over to 400. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up.
Scrub potatoes clean then slice into fry size pieces – your fries, your preference. Place fries into a bowl and set aside.
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil then add salt and vinegar. Boil for two minutes.
Pour vinegar water over fries and let soak for 5 minutes.
Drain potatoes and pat dry with a paper tower.
Put back into the bowl and add the oil, salt, pepper, and paprika. Toss to coat well. Then place in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes, stir, then bake for an additional 20 minutes. (Or more if you like them crispier)
Please note this recipe was developed at high altitude, your baking time may vary.
