Smoothie Bowl Basics

A smoothie is a combination of fruit (and sometimes veg) that has been pulverized in a blender. Yes, I prefer to drink my fruit most days (and veg!).

To get you started

1 banana (or use any drained white bean if you don’t like banana)

1c of another fruit (any berries are chock full of goodness or even a citrus fruit, peel please)

1c of liquid (milk, plant based milk, juice, water even)

1c of vegetable (lettuce, spinach, cucumber)

and I throw in a bit of protein powder to make sure I’m getting enough every day.

Then you just blend it up.

Sometimes it can be very thick so I add a little bit of water to thin it out.

Smoothie pictured:
1 banana
1c blueberries
1c almond milk
1c spinach
1 scoop protein powder
Little water to thin
And blend

I’ve topped this with chia seeds, granola, strawberry, and coconut.
