Hi guys, another week has gone by somehow. Here’s what’s going on in Uganda:

Each week we study leadership and we’ve been talking about being anticipatory leaders. This means do you see a problem coming or an opportunity and can you do something about it now? We were talking about how some August, they haven’t told us which August, the road outside the compound will be repaired. What do we need to do to be prepared for that new road? Then we realized that the road on the other side of our compound had just been repaired and opened recently. With a brand new road, just like where you live, people drive down that street to see what’s down there. We have no signage on that corner though. Our next project will be getting a sign inviting people to the Bridge Calvary Chapel. I’m getting an estimate now, I’ll let you know what it will cost. Please pray and see if God wants you to help with that sign so anyone driving down that street can find the church.

Update on the library, it’s almost done! I’m close to revealing the room to you guys. After we painted the new wall, the rest of the dining room looked pretty bad. So we are painting that too. We’re thinking it might be nice to paint the books of the Bible on the wall. So I’m also getting an estimate to paint the books of the Bible on the wall, in order, because we ask the students to memorize them, there’s Sunday School classes in there for the church, and many people are in and out of that room each day. Plus it’s really what we’re all about. Praying God tells you to get involved with this project. It should be petty cool.

The students are going through the rough phase right now. The honeymoon phase is over and it’s getting hard. They are realizing it’s hard work and there’s lots to do. Please I’m going to ask you to lift them up in prayer. They’re doing well but it’s getting hard. Thank you for praying for them.

I’ve also started reading to them every week. Reading the chapters from their daily quiet time so that they can understand me. My accent is very different than the accent here.

We’ve started computer classes and the students are enjoying learning about computers. They all came to the computer lab to practice making PowerPoint presentations. Their personalities are coming out as they make designs to share their favorite verses.

If you could pray for the staff compound, thieves keep trying to break in. For protection and for salvation for those thieves.

TJ’s birthday was this week (2 years old). There’s a big party for him tomorrow. Thankful for his life.

Tonight is movie night! We are watching The Princess Bride and you are invited if you want to come, it starts at 5:00pm east Africa time.

Thank you guys for praying and I’ll talk to you again next week.
