A big ‘ol burger that won’t give you a heart attack. Well, unless you try to eat all four yourself. These are big, filling, and hit the spot for my burger cravings.

Lentil Burgers

3/4c       mayo

3T           sweet chili sauce

3/4t        paprika

1T           tomato paste

1T           sriracha

1T           worcestershire

1c            lentils

1/2t        salt

3c            water

1 large   egg

1c            bread crumbs (plain)

2T           yellow onion, grated

1t            salt

2T           avocado oil

4              ciabatta buns

In saucepan, bring water and salt to boil, add lentils and simmer for 12-15 minutes. Drain and let cool.

Combine mayonnaise, chili sauce, paprika, tomato paste, Sriracha, and Worcestershire.

In food processor, pulse together lentils with 1/4c mayonnaise mixture. Add egg, bread crumbs, onion, and salt and pulse to combine.

Move lentil mixture to bowl, cover and chill for 30 minutes in refrigerator.

Form into 4 patties.

Heat up frying pan then add oil. Lower heat to medium and fry patties, about 4 minutes. Lower heat again to low, flip patties and fry for about 4 minutes more.

Serve on bun with mayonnaise mixture and your favorite burger toppings.
